These terms apply to the course and to Power Hour 1-on-1 sessions offered by The Rough Crew at theroughcrew.com.
These General Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the contractual relationship between Eyal Navon, trading as The Rough Crew, Schauinslandstr. 14, 79224 Umkirch, Germany (“we”, “us”) and anyone who applies for or books the online animation course offered at theroughcrew.com (“you”, the “customer”). Deviating terms of the customer do not apply unless expressly agreed to in writing.
The Rough Crew offers a practical, cohort-based 2D character animation course, delivered through weekly live review sessions and 1-on-1 interaction over Zoom, community access for work-in-progress feedback between sessions, and structured assignments. The current course description, format, recommended duration, and price are published on the relevant course page at theroughcrew.com/course at the time of booking.
Submitting the form at theroughcrew.com/apply is a non-binding application and does not by itself create a contract. A binding contract is only concluded once we confirm your enrollment in writing (e.g. by email) and, where applicable, payment for the course has been received.
Prices are as stated on the course page at the time of booking, in Euro. As a small business within the meaning of § 19 UStG, we do not charge or show value added tax on our invoices. Payment terms and accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of enrollment.
Course access begins once enrollment is confirmed and, where applicable, payment has been received. The recommended pace of the course is stated on the course page. Specific start dates, cohort scheduling, and any renewal or extension terms will be communicated separately at enrollment.
If you are a consumer, you generally have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Eyal Navon, The Rough Crew, Schauinslandstr. 14, 79224 Umkirch, Germany, email as stated in our Imprint) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unambiguous statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
If course access is provided digitally before the withdrawal period has expired, and you have expressly requested this and acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, your right of withdrawal ends once the service has been fully performed. In all other cases, if you have requested that access begin before the end of the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you communicated your withdrawal, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
Independently of the statutory right of withdrawal above, and as stated on our course page, we also offer a voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee on the course fee; please contact us using the details in our Imprint to make use of it.
(If you want to withdraw from the contract, please fill out this form and send it back to us.)
To Eyal Navon, The Rough Crew, Schauinslandstr. 14, 79224 Umkirch, Germany – I/we hereby give notice that I/we withdraw from my/our contract for the provision of the following service: the online animation course booked via theroughcrew.com – Ordered on / received on: [please specify] – Name of consumer(s) – Address of consumer(s) – Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper) – Date.
Any cancellation, refund, or transfer terms that apply after the statutory withdrawal period and the voluntary money-back guarantee described above will be set out in the order confirmation you receive at enrollment.
Access to course materials and community spaces is personal to you and may not be shared, resold, or redistributed. Course materials remain our intellectual property and are provided for your personal, non-commercial learning use only.
We are liable without limitation for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health. For slightly negligent breaches of material contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment is essential for the proper performance of the contract and on whose compliance the customer may regularly rely), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Any further liability for slight negligence is excluded.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
In addition to the course described above, we offer “Power Hour” – a single, paid 60-minute 1-on-1 Zoom session, bookable directly via theroughcrew.com/power-hour without enrolling in the course. Unlike the course application process described in Section 3, a binding contract for a Power Hour session is concluded once your booking is confirmed and payment has been received.
Prices are as stated on the Power Hour page at the time of booking, in Euro. As a small business within the meaning of § 19 UStG, we do not charge or show value added tax on our invoices.
Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer, you generally have the right to withdraw from a Power Hour booking within 14 days without giving any reason, in the same way as described in Section 6 above. Because Power Hour sessions are typically scheduled within a few days of booking, your session will often take place before this 14-day period ends. By completing your booking and agreeing to these Terms, you expressly request that we begin providing the session before the withdrawal period has expired, and you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the session has been fully performed – that is, once the Zoom session has taken place.
If you withdraw before your scheduled session takes place, your right of withdrawal under Section 6 applies in full and you will receive a full refund, since no part of the session has yet been provided. Once the session has taken place, the service has been fully performed and no withdrawal or refund is possible. To withdraw, or to reschedule a session that has not yet taken place, please contact us using the details in our Imprint as early as possible. The model withdrawal form in Section 6 may be used for this purpose, referring to the Power Hour session booked via theroughcrew.com instead of the course.
