Eyal Navon
Handdrawn Character Animator & Filmmaker
Hi, I’m Eyal! I’m a Germany-based 2D character animator and founder of The Rough Crew, dedicated to the craft of classical hand-drawn animation.
My technical foundation was shaped by studying under Disney Veteran Sasha Dorogov, mastering classic character performance, alongside training at Gobelins Paris. Over my career, I have worked as a Lead Animator and Media Producer, and most recently as a 2D Animator at the Academy Award-nominated SPA Studios.
In 2024, I was awarded 1st prize for the Andreas Deja Scholarship Award at CTN for my dedication to the classical principles of the Nine Old Men. I founded The Rough Crew to pass these timeless, industry-proven hand-drawn techniques on to the next generation of animators.
